Counting my Blessings

I just want to start by wishing you all a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! I love taking a portion of time on this day each year to really think about all that I'm thankful for and have been blessed with. Here are the top 10 that I came up with today... Till next time

1. My Salvation-
Without The Lord taking control of my life and saving me on December 15, 2012, I would be
nothing. I'm so so thankful for the Lord's continual patience and saving grace in my life.
John 5:30a. verse that showed me my need for
                                                                                                                                                      Christ

2. My Parents and Grandparents
They are always there for me when I have a question, problem, or just to pray with me. I am
continually thanking my Lord for blessing me with these very special people in my life.

3. Spending Time with my Sisters
I love them with everything I have. They always are able to make me laugh. I am thankful for
every opportunity I get to spend time with them by watching a movie with them, painting  their nails, or trying out different hairstyles on them. They are 3 big blessing in my life.

4. My Friends
I have been blessed with some pretty amazing friends. I know they are there for me and praying
for me. They play such a big part in my life, that without them my life would be missing a big
      part.

5. Christmas Tree Farms
There is something about driving past a Christmas tree farm that makes me all excited. My favorite holiday is Christmas, so when I think of a Christmas tree farm I think of an unending
Christmas. love the piney smell of the Christmas trees and their color green is so majestic looking.

    6. Sheep
Yes, I know you're probably thinking, "Sheep?!?!" Yes, I love them. I know they can be "blonde" alright stupid at times. But there is something about them that makes me say, "Awwww!" I
love the picture that Jesus gave us concerning sheep... That if we are saved we are His sheep and He
is our Shepherd.

7. Quiet Mornings
I am such a morning person. My favorite part of the day is waking up early, drinking coffee, and spending time with God as the sun slowly rises to start a new day.

8. The Night Sky
Looking up into the night sky and seeing the innumerable amount of stars and perhaps a full
moon, never ceases to amaze me.

9. Starbucks
What is there not to love about Starbucks? My best memories of Starbucks is going there with my friends and spending hours on end just talking while we sip on our coffees. ;-)

10. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Chocolate and Peanut Butter.... A Genius must have come up with this wonderful combination.     Seriously, these little individually wrapped presents are my ULTIMATE favorites. If I were deserted on an island and had to choose one thing to take with me, these would be one of my first choices lol

I hope you all have a very Blessed & Happy Thanksgiving!

First Snow of the Year!

It's snowing outside! My sisters and I are beyond excited, especially Juliana. She said to me, "Yay! Briar, now we can make a snowman!" In reality there's only a dusting of snow on the ground. Maybe next time Juliana. :-) I love how the snow looks while it floats to the ground. It seems almost enchanting. It possesses a marvelous aura as the snow falls silently for hours. Bracing the cold, my sisters and I had to be a part of this beautiful picture outside our window. Till next time...

An Early Thanksgiving :-)

Hi Again All!

Since my Grandpop will be going to Philly on Monday to get his stem cell transplant, my family and I celebrated Thanksgiving early this year so he could be with us. My Uncle Steve, Aunt Brittany, their 5 girls, and my Aunt Eleanor were able to come, so we definitely had a full house. The more the merrier! I love my family so much and am so thankful to have them in my life. I love every opportunity I get to be with them! Here are some pics from today... Till next time :-)

                                                              The food of course ;-)

Who are you Thankful for?

Today in the Teen Girl Bible Study we continued our study in the book of Proverbs, but since it's so close to Thanksgiving I wanted to make it extra special. I asked every girl to think of 1 or 2 other girls in the youth group and say why they were thankful for them. It was definitely an encouraging time for everyone. To bring it all together, I made Snickerdoodles and brought apple cider for everyone to enjoy while we chatted. I would also like to thank my friend Grace, for making a batch of delicious cookies. I know everyone enjoyed them! Here are few pics from today's Bible Study. Till next time...

Thanksgiving Friends

Thanksgiving is a time
To review what we treasure
The people we hold dear,
Who give us so much pleasure.
Without you as my friend,
Life would be a bore;
Having you in my life
Is what I'm thankful for.

Coffee with a Friend

Hello again all,

I had such a great day. My youth pastor's wife Jackie and I went to Starbucks for coffee to hang out and chat. Boy did we have fun! :D We left at 12:45 p.m. and didn't get back till 2:50 p.m. Haha barely made it on the bus in time! I'm so thankful and blessed to have her in my life. She is such a dear friend to me. Even though there is a difference in our age, she knows exactly how to relate to me and give me council and advice without seeming condescending. Whenever I'm around her I feel uplifted and encouraged. I am so thankful for you Jackie! Till next time...

Typical Monday Morning :-D

Need an extra day?

It started as a flop, but turned into something wonderful!

Well my readers,

My fellow teen girls and I had another meeting yesterday to study chapters 9-15 of Proverbs, and wow was it GREAT!! There were only 6 of us this time, because a lot of them were at a singing convention in Harrisburg, but it seemed like we were all there. There was so much interaction and sweet fellowship that none of us wanted it to stop.
I always try to make a treat for us, because a Bible Study isn't a Bible Study without food right? ;-) Well, if you don't know me, I love Pinterest and get a lot of great ideas from it. On Wednesday I found a recipe for Cookies and Cream bars. I was so excited, because who doesn't love cookies and cream? So, on Thursday I went to the store and got everything I needed for them.  I immediately got to work and started making them. Grinding Oreos, melting marshmallows and butter, mixing them all together, then cooling, cutting, and putting the gooey squares in the fridge overnight. When I woke up the next morning the first thing I did was go and check on the bars. To my horrible dismay they turned in to rocks. Literally, if someone would have dropped it on their foot I think it would have done some serious damage LOL. Well Plan B...Rice Crispy Treats at 6:45 a.m.! Bowls and spoons clanging, marshmallows over flowing in the microwave, rice crispies popping, and finally running outside to catch the bus. Phew! Made it!
Now, let's get to the the important part...the Bible Study. As they drank the chocolate milk and ate the rice crispy treats we had a wonderful discussion and everyone had such great things to share. We were all so excited to hear what each other had learned and were able to relate and give input. Laughter and rejoicing there's not  much more I can say. God is teaching me a lot. I love these girls and they are a blessing to me, I hope that I am to them as well. To the girls in my Bible Study~ Phil 1:3, "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you."
Till next time...

Here's something to make you laugh... Looks can be sooo deceiving! Try again Pinterest!

A Teen Girl's Bible Study!

Hello Again! So a lot of exciting things have happened recently to me. The one I want to share with you today is about the Teen Girl Bible Study that I am privileged to be leading. About a week ago, Mr. Anger (my principal) asked me if I could do something concerning spiritual matters with the teen girls. I was honored, but the question for me was.... what? After careful thinking and praying about it the Lord helped me realize that since we're reading the book of Proverbs as youth group for the month of November why don't we study it?  There is so much knowledge and wisdom relating to teens in Proverbs that it is just waiting to be studied. I'm excited to say that we started the first Bible study together last Friday and Praise The Lord all went well! ;-) What a blessing!!! I'd appreciate your prayers as we continue to study together every Friday afternoon :D Till next time....

Hey, let's see if this works! ;-)

Hi Everyone! I've been wanting to create a blog for some time, but I just haven't had the right opportunity to do it. Until Now! The hardest part of creating my blog was trying to come up with the perfect name. I wanted it to be a part of me and my life. Trust me, this definitely is. Why? Well, I'm glad you asked :D

It all happened on a carefree, beautiful Sunday morning (or so I thought) My mom, a friend of ours, and myself were going to sing a special that morning at church. I had just gotten a new pair of high heels and what better opportunity to wear them?! As the last chorus of the congregational singing was being sung we made our way up to the platform. Quickly following my mom up the stairs I lost my balance and my right heel flipped off! Struggling to pick it up off the stairs and put it back on was no easy task, let me tell you. ;-) After the church service my friends couldn't let me go home without asking how my "trip" was haha. Aren't they great? :D One thing I learned from my "trip" was to keep my head and HEELS high, but just learn to walk in them first. :D Until next time...
